Additional comments and information on artistic activity and research plans

My main interest as a composer and researcher consists of the critique of historical musical
values and the discovery of alternatives which may result in new paradigms for musical
composition. For instance: traditional musical forms may be superseded by different
manifestations of musical structure; musical discourse may assume new modes of intonation
and tuning; the traditional role attributed to melody and accompaniment may be superseded
by a different relationship between these components etc.

The result of this enquiry is both realised and repeated by means of the compositional outputs
which serve as testimony and document of the research pursued.

Future plans include:
1. Completion of research on 'Music and the Holocaust' previously pursued in Gideon Kleins
Marterstrasse, Letzte Briefe aus Stalingrad, Gustl in Theresienstadt, Kastner Trial:
composition of Deutchland Deutchland.
2. Continuation of investigative work on the development of the relationship between solo and
accompaniment previously pursued in The Prophet Is A Fool, Ear Drum, Flute Concerto:
composition of Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.
3. Continuation of research on intonation, previously pursued in Saxophone Quartet & Tape:
composition of Play As Written for solo cello; Partita for solo violin, composition for two
pianos with different tuning, and a composition for string quartet with tape.
4. Research on the relationship between causality and randomness in music: composition of
Pathologic Symphony for orchestra and tape.
